About Neil Hafer

Since 1992, Neil Hafer has been a consistent source of leadership with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. In his nearly 20 years with the company, Mr. Hafer has handled a wide range of management and administrative duties.

Neil Hafer attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1992. Shortly after completing his degree, he joined Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Los Angeles. From 1992 to 2002, Mr. Hafer worked his way up through the company in the East San Fernando Valley/San Gabriel division, handling fleet management, daily operations, hiring and personnel decisions, and profit and loss. In 2002, he was promoted to Regional Vice President of the East Tennessee region, increasing the fleet, number of branches, and profits by 100% over the next four years.

In July 2006, Neil Hafer moved to Puerto Rico, where he was tasked with establishing and expanding the company’s presence as the region’s Vice President and General Manager. During the three years he spent handling daily operations at Enterprise, the company’s Puerto Rican fleet grew to more than 1,700 vehicles. Since the Puerto Rico division was still in its early stages, Mr. Hafer also negotiated a number of leases for new locations and purchased a wide range of vehicles for the company. By the end of his tenure in 2009, Neil Hafer had been instrumental in helping the Puerto Rico division become the fifth-ranked operating group in the company. He returned to Salt Lake City later that year and was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the Utah/Southern Idaho operations, a position he holds to this day.

Neil Hafer supports a wide range of charitable and community organizations, including the Ken Garff Keys to Success program and the Christ United Methodist Church. He was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the United Way of Salt Lake, an organization that bestowed its Corporate Partner of the Year award to Enterprise Rent-A-Car for its volunteering efforts in the local community. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, hiking, running, biking, tennis, and reading. He lists Orson Scott Card and Stieg Larsson among his favorite writers.
